The roots of WSKF trace back to the profound legacy of Gichin Funakoshi, the founder of Shotokan Karate. Funakoshi’s teachings spread internationally, laying the foundation for various Karate organizations worldwide. In the spirit of preserving and propagating the authentic principles of Shotokan, WSKF emerged as a distinct entity.

Established with a vision to promote traditional Shotokan Karate-do, WSKF embraces the fundamental values of humility, integrity, and perseverance. Over the years, it has evolved as a leading authority in the Shotokan community, fostering a deep sense of camaraderie and mutual respect among its members.

At its inception, WSKF (Japan) benefited from the leadership of esteemed figures within the karate world. Haruo Ueda Sensei served as the president, bringing his wealth of experience and expertise to guide the federation’s development and operations. With Hitoshi Kasuya Sensei assuming the role of Chief Instructor, WSKF was able to offer top-tier instruction and training to its members, ensuring the propagation of traditional Shotokan Karate-Do principles and techniques.

Association Goals: WSKF Canada is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of technical proficiency, ethical conduct, and sportsmanship within the realm of Shotokan Karate. Its goals encompass:
